Clinical Trial Opportunities for Volunteers
Bradenton Research Center would like to thank you for taking the time to view our current enrolling studies. We are excited to be a part of an integrated team, which is lead by Dr. McElveen who has had 18 years of clinical research experience. As you explore the clinical trials in which our site is participating, you will be taking the next step in being a part of advancements in medical care for millions of individuals. Being a participant in a clinical research trial allows you the opportunity to receive free medical care at no cost to you, consultations with physicians who are experts in their field, and possible treatment of new innovative medications.
Bradenton Research Center on average is involved with 17-22 clinical trials at any given time. Dr McElveen is the founder and principal investigator at our center and has successfully completed over 90 clinical trials. Each clinical study has a set enrollment goal, which is provided by the pharmaceutical sponsor. Therefore the studies listed below are open to enrollment for future volunteers. Clinical Trials for Indication of Mild to Moderate Cognitive Impairment
Do you or a loved one suffer from mild to moderate cognitive impairment?
Are you 50 years or older, on a stable dose of memory medication, have a responsible caregiver, and not taking greater than 100% of the Daily Value intake of vitamins B, C, or E ?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you may be eligible to participate in a 26-28 week clinical trial with approximately 6 visits to the study center. Volunteers can remain on current medications for memory if they prove stable throughout the duration of the study. All volunteers are paid up to $50 per visit for compensation for time and travel.
Have you had an MRI/CT scan of the brain in the past two years? Are you 50 years of age or older, and experience mild cognitive impairment?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you may qualify to participate in the clinical trial being conducted by Dr. McElveen. The studies duration is indefinite and provides compensation for time and travel of up to $300 every 6 months.
Are you between 50 to 89 years of age, have a responsible caregiver, and have no history of stroke or a pacemaker?
If you answered yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research trial using an IV administered study drug during the span of 15 visits. Participants can remain on current medications for memory if they prove stable throughout the duration of the study. The volunteer and caregiver are each compensated $100 per visit and up to $3000 total for time and travel.
Clinical Trials for Indication of Diabetic Neuropathy
Have you experienced numbness, reduced ability to feel pain, tingling or burning feeling in extremities?
Are you between 18 and 80 years of age, have type I or type II diabetes, have experienced pain greater than 6 months, and do not have a separate pain condition more severe than Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy? If you answered yes to these question you may be able to participate in a clinical research trial at Bradenton Research Center. The study consists of 5 different phases of participation and volunteer s will be compensated up $36 per visit. The total compensation depends on what phases the patient completes.
Are you 18 years of age or older, have had pain for at least 3 months, and willing to discontinue all pain medication for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy?
If you answered yes you may be eligible to take part in a DPN research study which lasts approximately 24 weeks. All volunteers will be compensated up to $50 for each completed visit.
Are you between 18 and 70 years of age, been diagnosed with diabetes for 12 months, and experienced symptoms of diabetic neuropathy in the lower extremities for at least 6 months?
If you answered yes you may be eligible to participate in a diabetic neuropathy study that lasts approximately 15 months. Volunteers will be compensated up to $2,750 for completion of study.
Clinical Trials for Indication of Advanced or Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease
Have you been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease? Do experience involuntary movements, tremors, and stiffness of the muscles?
Are you greater than 30 years of age, have been diagnosed with advanced Parkinson’s Disease for at least 3 years, and on a stable dose of Sinemet for 28 days?
If yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study using a transdermal patch. Participants must not have a history of active psychosis or hallucinations. The study duration is approximately 5 months with compensation for time and travel of up to $25 for each visit completed.
Are you diagnosed with advanced Parkinson’s Disease, receiving optimal treatment with current anti-Parkinson’s therapy, and do you still continue to have motor fluctuations?
If yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study using a continuous infusion by pump with carbidopa- levodopa. Participants must not have experience with impulsive behavior or involuntary hallucinations. The duration of the clinical study is 12 weeks with compensation if study is completed.
Are you greater than 30 years of age, on a dopamine agonist, and not currently taking sinemet?
If you answered yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research trial lasting up to 18 weeks. Volunteers will be compensated up to$135 for completing the study.
Clinical Trial for Indication of Multiple Sclerosis
Are you between 18 and 80 years of age, suffer from spinal cord injury and incontinence?
Are you wheelchair bound due to your MS or spinal cord injury?
If yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical trial which lasts up to 52 weeks. All volunteers who complete the clinical trial will be compensated up to $1,010 upon completion of study.
Clinical Trial for Indication of Epilepsy
Do you suffer from complex partial seizures?
Are you on a stable treatment with 1 to 2 anti-epileptic medications and have been diagnosed with partial complex seizures?
Volunteers must have no more than 4 partial seizures in an 8 week period. If you answered yes to the following you may be eligible to participate in a clinical trial at Bradenton research center. The study drug is being used as monotherapy treatment for patients and lasts approximately 29 weeks with 10 office visits. Volunteers will be compensated up to $100 for time and travel.
Clinical Trial for Indication of Osteoarthritis
Do you suffer from arthritic pain in your knees or hips?
Are you 18 years of age or older, have not been diagnosed with diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis?
If you answered yes you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research trial that last up to32 weeks with approximately 15 office visits. Participants will be compensated up to $1,225 for completing the study.
