UNTIL THE MOMENT WE FIND A CURE

Stories of life with Multiple Sclerosis are told through the everyday moments people with MS experience. The National MS Society amplifies these stories of people living with MS to raise awareness, until the moment we find a cure.

Multiple sclerosis is a disease that impacts the brain and spinal cord which make up the central nervous system and controls everything we do. The exact cause of MS is unknown, but we do know that something triggers the immune system to attack the brain and spinal cord.

The resulting damage to myelin, the protective layer insulating wire-like nerve fibers, disrupts signals to and from the brain. This interruption of communication signals causes unpredictable symptoms such as numbness, tingling, mood changes, memory problems, pain, fatigue, blindness and/or paralysis.

Everyone’s experience with MS is different and these losses may be temporary or long lasting.

Because, Together, We Are Stronger!

Walk MS brings together passionate people from communities across the country to change the world for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis. To date, Walk MS participants, volunteers and donors have raised over one billion dollars to stop MS in its tracks, restore what’s been lost, and to end MS forever.

The National MS Society builds a network of resources and events to help people affected by MS live less isolated, more informed, happier lives, including the more than 100,000 people stepping forward for Walk MS each and every year.

Walk MS connects people living with MS and those who care about them with one another. Every step does count and every dollar raised, does help. Every connection matters, and the next step you take could be the last in the journey toward a world free of MS, and one day, finding a cure.

Be Sure To Join Us For The Walk MS Event This Saturday, April 9, In Tampa, Florida.
