Clinical trials are medical research studies involving patients. They can help discover new medicines, or get improved versions of existing medicines. The main objective of a clinical research study is to answer questions about the safety and effectiveness of these potential new medications. These studies must be completed before a new treatment can be offered to the public.
If you’re at risk for Alzheimer’s disease, you may be eligible for a clinical research study. Your brain may show signs of Alzheimer’s disease before you ever notice any changes in your memory or ability to think clearly.
The Trailblazer ALZ-3 Study involves people who have normal memory, thinking, mood, and behavior patterns. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups. They receive either the investigational drug or a placebo. Those who receive a placebo may have the option to receive the investigational drug at a later time. If you or your family have a history of Alzheimer’s disease, this chapter you’re learning about today could help save someone else’s life tomorrow.

The Bradenton Research Center
Since 1992, the Bradenton Research Center has completed over 150 clinical research studies. The diseases we’ve studied include Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Influenza, Migraines, Neuropathic Pain, Gout, Hypertension, Stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetic Neuropathy, Epilepsy, COVID-19, and many others. Patients enrolled in our studies are closely monitored by our research physicians and coordinators. All study-related care and medication are provided to our patients at no cost.
It is fulfilling to see the significant progress in the treatments of the diseases we’ve studied. Without clinical trials, we wouldn’t have any of the medicines that we take every single day. We’re currently engaged in more than a dozen studies. Through this research, we are hopeful to continue finding these better treatments and cures.
